The City of Charlottetown is currently updating its cultural policy.
A cultural policy is a set of guidelines and actions that enable municipal leaders to make informed decisions about investment in the arts, what services to offer, and what strategies to employ to meet community goals.
The new policy will help identify the diversity of cultural assets in Charlottetown and establish how the municipality can help the arts and culture community achieve its collective goals.
So far, three surveys have been issued in the Summer of 2023 to stakeholders, City staff, and the public. These surveys informed the first draft of the Cultural Policy, which was shared with the community at the Cultural Policy Open House.
A final survey Cultural Policy Draft Feedback Survey was issued in November 2023 and concluded in December 2023.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in this process so far.
The final Cultural Policy will be presented to Charlottetown City Council early in 2024 for endorsement.
