Charlottetown Library Learning Centre Mural Public Voting

The City of Charlottetown is commissioning a mural for the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre (97 Queen Street) and is asking for members of the public to vote on their favourite design.


What mural design should be selected?

Three (3) artists have been shortlisted by an independent peer jury of arts-sector and community representatives to submit proposals for a new mural at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, but only one will be selected.

The final artwork will result in a site-specific mural painted on aluminum panels installed on the exterior retaining wall of the library, wrapping from Queen Street around the corner to Sydney Street. The mural is expected to be installed and painted on site in the Summer or Fall of 2026 and will remain on public display for 5–10 years.


How do I participate?

Review the three proposals, read the artist concept statements, and vote online using the link below.*

Public voting is open from July 22 to July 28 at 4 p.m., 2026.


How will the voting be used in the final decision?

An independent peer jury of arts-sector and community representatives will reconvene later in July to review the full design proposals from the three shortlisted artists and recommend the successful artist or artist team to the Arts Advisory Board and Council. The full feedback gathered from the online survey will be shared with the peer jury and will be considered as part of their final decision.

Evaluation of Stage Two will be based on several factors, including design, site integration, technical considerations, and community input. Public voting results are not binding and will be reviewed by the jury and considered as one of many factors in their final recommendation.
